Akira Ogawa, born in Tokyo, is a composer and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano, synthesizers).

Akira Ogawa formed a band "Larch" and released their debut album "yes, please." in 2007. The album received critical acclaim and new-comer award in 2007 by TSUTAYA (the Japanese book and record mega chain store). After touring in Japan with the album, the band moved to Okinawa to record a second album "no place" released in 2009. Akira also recorded a solo acoustic album "Lost Words" in the same year. Akira moved to Japanese deep country side in search of finding a quiet place to live and started to work as a private high school teacher of Japanese literature. A third album "the Next Dimension of Love" was privately issued in 2013.

Akira decided to study abroad and spent 2014-17 travelling and studying in Canada and Scotland. Whilst studying in Edinburgh he taught himself by playing street pianos and composed a number of songs. In 2017, He obtained a master degree from the University of Edinburgh, and an ambient piano album titled "On (穏)" (2018) was the result of his experience of staying in Edinburgh.

He returned to music and to Japan in 2017 releasing the ambient piano album "On (穏)", dedicated for the art exhibition of Rieko Hidaka. The exhibition took place in art museums across Japan from 2018 to 2020. The album got the attention of Aska Kaneko's, and they decided to form the group "A-Un" and make their album "Cosmic Scale" in 2020.
